Week 8: Photoshopping materials

PAPER MODEL Adding wooden decking texture to floor to display the basic theme and style I want to make this space to have. Adding leaf and vine textures. Final photoshopped model CARDBOARD MODEL Adding wall textures which reflect modern trends and modern living spaces. Adding darkened floors for contrast and for a modern feel to the room. I decided to replace the white background as it was distracting and removed the feel for the room. Final Photoshopped model. I decided to use a panoramic photo to capture the entire length of the room. I captured a wide shot to encapsulate the consumer within the surroundings creating a better relationship and feel of the room.  REFINED MODEL Selecting yellow paper and adjusting its colour to brown using adjustment layers and foreground fill. This allowed me to change the bright yellow colour to a brown and mask over a rock face texture. Once a rock texture was applied and masked I used the br...

Week 8: Final scaled model

ONGOING PROCESS After creating 2.5D models and components using Fusion 360. I decided to use the skills and techniques I learnt following online tutorials to create a small card model which was laid out and planned using Fusion 360. Before I began sketching and modelling in Fusion 360 I looked on Pinterest for ideas and inspiration. Initial Fusion 360 concept model. I didn't like how large the model's layout was. This made me come to the decision to create a small model and experiment with how I could use the small space most effectively. My 2nd concept model made using Fusion 360. A much tighter, smaller space which is the actual size of my room with wall height adjustments made to it. To transfer this to a handmade model I used the align tool to create flat components which I could later print and cut out onto card. The model was scaled down to 1:50. Creating a model using thin cardboard from Weet-Bix box and 200gsm white card. Side view ...

Week 7: Folded model

Image
ONGOING PROCESS Saturday night I began brainstorming and creating sketch models of a final folded model. I wanted to try to use a single piece of card and fold it in a way to create a single entire shape resembling my room. Initial sketch model made up of many cut out pieces to plan out shape, size and lighting features Inside of first initial model made from 120gsm card Cutting out the final model layout before beginning folding and cutting windows FINAL SCALED, FOLDED MODEL Black 200 gsm paper was used to not allow any light to pass through the walls and ceiling. This model was an upgraded version of my room consisting of ranges of different spaces to allow natural light to come through, extra spaces and extra windows. Following the sketch models made I utilised folding techniques are tried to limit myself with 2-3 single pieces of paper which are folded to create a single room (as 1 piece was not enough).  The model is 1:30 in scale. I playe...
