WK3: Site Map and Pedestrian Movement
GROUP DRAWING OF SITE (GROUP 3)
Following the group task, a single group member drew the site using online materials such as google earth and maps. This was a good way to capture an accurate birds-eye view of the site.
TACE OF DRAWING IN ILLUSTRATOR
Following this, I used the drawing to make an Illustrator version. Using different colours to capture different elements of the site (trees, building, etc).
COLOURING AND MAKING PEDESTRIAN LINES IN ILLUSTRATOR
Once the outline was complete I used the information gathered at 9am of the movement of people in the area. This was done using photos, videos and note which were taken at the site.
- I made the trees semi-transparent and the building underneath has dashed hidden lines.
- The building you cant enter solid colours and adding details in the Whitehouse which was open and free to enter.
- Shadows of each map correlate to the North point and the time. (eg 9am sun comes from the East, 6pm shadows come from the West)
- Added colour swatches, North point and scale to each map to allow all the maps to have flow and match together.

Notes:
- Many people walking through to get to class from bus station
- Not many people going to Whitehouse
- Many people walking through the main pathway to get to class and grab a coffee from student accommodation, car park, bus and light rail.

CHOOSING THE COLOURS
We decided as a group that each map's colour/theme will be related to the specific time we were capturing. For me, I googled and looked on Instagram for specific colour swatches and themes which would suit a morning sky.
Colours used:
- 9am: yellow, golds, light greens (the early morning)
- 12pm: Greens (the day is alive and people are moving around)
- 3pm: Light blue (ending of the day)
- 6pm: Dark blues, yellows lines (getting cold, the sun begins to set, street lights begin to turn on)
